Washington. US health expert Anthony Fauci has commented positively on President Donald Trump’s recent measures in the ongoing corona crisis. The director of the National Institute for Infectious Diseases told Fox News on Friday that Trump’s cancellation of the Republican Party Congress in Florida in late August was a “good decision”. The immunologist also welcomed the fact that Trump now advises to wear a protective mask and shows himself wearing a mask. “This will be a good example for the rest of the country.”
Fauci, a member of the White House Coronavirus Working Group, added, “So I think we’re moving in a really positive direction in this regard.” Trump has been strikingly more pessimistic in the crisis for a few days now. Fauci said Trump had understood the situation and had adjusted his behavior. In the meantime, more than four million infections with the pathogen Sars-CoV-2 have been detected in the USA with its approximately 330 million inhabitants.
Fauci doesn’t believe in a “complete lockdown”
Fauci described his relationship with Trump as good. In the meantime, criticism of the prominent expert had come from the White House. Trump himself recently said in a Fox News interview: “He’s a bit of a clairvoyant.” Trump also described his relationship with Fauci as good.

Looking at the many new infections in the United States, Fauci said he did not think there would be a “complete lockdown” again. But that cannot be ruled out. States with a high infection rate should consider taking the easing of protective measures back one step. Fauci called for wearing masks and taking hygiene protection measures into account. He was again cautiously optimistic that there would be a vaccine against the coronavirus by the end of the year or early 2021.
