In Hamburg, the number of detected corona infections rose again in the double-digit range. Since Friday, 13 new confirmed cases have been added, the Senate announced on Saturday. This means that the number of Hamburg residents who have tested positive since the pandemic broke out is currently 5,303. According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute, around 5,000 of these can now be considered recovered.

25 infected people in hospitals in Hamburg

According to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Covid 19 disease has been identified as the cause of death in 230 Hamburg citizens who have died. According to the Senate, 25 infected people from Hamburg and the surrounding area are currently being treated in hospital in the hospitals of the Hanseatic city, again two more than on the previous day. Six infected people are in intensive care units, five of whom come from Hamburg.

Still far below the limit

The numbers correspond to 3.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Nevertheless, the level of infection in Hamburg is still well below the limit of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, from which the Senate would have to discuss further restrictions to contain the pandemic.
