Kapfenberg was victorious in the supplementary game against Wacker Innsbruck under new coach Vladimir Petrovic. Ex-Kapfenberg Stefan Meusburger sealed the Falcons’ 2: 3 home defeat with a late goal after a corner kick. Twice the KSV-Elf had caught up, but it should not be enough for an increase in points.

SOCCER 2ND LEAGUE. After turbulent days – wrong interpretation of the Covid 19 tests, departure of head coach Kurt Russ and two weather-related postponements – the KSV falcons under interim trainer Vladimir Petrovic in the Fekete stadium were finally able to switch back to match mode. In the follow-up game against FC Wacker Innsbruck, the Tyroleans dominated the first half of the game and took the lead in the early stages: Murat Satin headed to 0: 1 after Robert Martic’s pass. In the 13th minute, Michael Wildbacher scored with a shot from ten meters to 1-1 for Kapfenberg.
The KSV-Elf changed only in one position compared to the home game against Horn (captain Matja Horvath replaced Davor Tomic in the starting line-up) was offensive little. The Tyroleans worked out numerous goal opportunities, but failed in the end or at KSV goalkeeper Mario Zocher.

Victory goal in the 87th minute

At Kapfenberg, Leo Mikic replaced Wildbacher after the break. And again a quick goal from Innsbruck: After a cross pass from Elvin Ibrisimovic, Alexander Joppich scored the 1-2 (48th). Kapfenberg’s answer soon followed: Substitute Mikic slammed the ball from the left frontier area to 2-2 in the net (56th). The falcons got the upper hand: Okan Ekmekci slammed a free kick into the outside net (66.), a shot by Marvin Hernaus was blocked by the Innsbruck defense (68.).
A former KSV player, of all people, scored the winning goal of the Tyroleans: Stefan Meusburger, who was always dangerous in standard situations, headed to a 2: 3 final score after a corner from Raphael Gallé (87.).

Who has quality for the 2nd division?

Neo coach Valdimir Petrovic: “It was also difficult for me to prepare the team for the game after the turbulent weeks. In the first half we were lucky not to be behind. After the break, we got into the game better, we tried everything and gave everything, but that was not enough against Innsbruck today. It is not the first time that we have lost a match because of a late goal, but that’s just football. I will continue to bet on the young players, they can on Friday in the home game against Lustenau show that they have quality for the second division. “
