According to BILD information, the change from Freiburg’s Alexander Schwolow (23) to royal blue is almost fixed. The goalkeeper is expected in Gelsenkirchen early next week and will then sign a long-term contract.
Schwolow approaching Schalke
The bosses around sports director Jochen Schneider (49) and team planner Michael Reschke (62) had been in agreement with the keeper himself for some time. Now the clubs are also close to the deal.
Freiburg Schalke will probably meet the payment of the fixed transfer fee (8 million euros). The SC is said to have given the clammy Pott Club (197 million euros in debt) the opportunity to mortgage the Schwolow millions in installments over the next few years.
In addition to Schalke, Hertha was also supposedly interested in Schwolow. The race is now royal blue!
What will become of Ralf Fährmann and Markus Schubert now?
► The Fährmann case (contract until 2023): After the unfortunate loans to Norwich City (3 missions) and Brann Bergen (Corona demolition without effort), the ex-captain has been training again in Gelsenkirchen since April.
His goal since then: to convince coach David Wagner (48) – and to move back to Schalke’s goalkeeper after the free transfer of Alexander Nübel (23 / Bavaria).
Whether the Schwolow obligation at Fährmann leads to rethinking?
The bosses maintain that they plan with him. But given its rich annual salary (about 3.5 million euros), the boss floor is almost obliged to deal with a possible change request.
► The Markus Schubert case (contract until 2023): If there is a ferryman, there is a high probability that the U21 goalkeeper will be awarded.
