- In the game Lugano – Thun there is no winner (1-1).
The Bernese Young Boys celebrated an eminently important home win in the battle for the championship title. The team of coach Gerardo Seoane had to tremble against a dangerous Servette until shortly before the end. Only the top goal from top scorer Jean-Pierre Nsame (92nd) let the Bernese breathe a sigh of relief.
After Lustenberger-Out, YB attacks the card
At first the Bernese had a hard time on the artificial turf at home. Koro Kone deservedly put the guests in the lead just before the break. Shortly before, Captain Fabian Lustenberger had to leave the field with a laceration after an air duel with the same Kone.
YB seemed defensively vulnerable throughout the game and therefore sought his salvation on the offensive. Christian Fassnacht was able to equalize with the break whistle. Christopher Martins (56.) and Meschack Elia (61.) after a rough dropout from Servette’s veteran Steve Rouiller set the course for victory in the second half.
Because the substitute Grejohn Kyei (68.) shortened and Nicolas Bürgy (70.) only hit the crossbar, it remained exciting until shortly before the end.
Thanks to the 12th home win in a row (new record in the Super League) and the first full success against Servette this season, YB is pushing FC St. Gallen out of the top again.
It continues like this
The young boys’ eyes will be on Lucerne on Thursday. FC St. Gallen is a guest there. For YB, the game continues at FCZ on Saturday. The majority of the Magnin team will then leave the quarantine.
