In South Tyrol the final result of the corona mass test has now been determined: 362,050 people took part in the “South Tyrol tests” campaign. 3,619 test results were positive – this corresponded to a share of one percent, the state government announced on Thursday. Large-scale testing began in the autonomous province last Friday. The number of participants was surprisingly high.
Since Monday there has been the possibility to get tested for the virus at participating doctors and pharmacies. The lively participation in South Tyrol exceeded the expectations of those responsible. Around 350,000 people were originally called to take part in the mass testing. “That shows the incredible personal responsibility of the South Tyrolean population,” said Health Councilor Thomas Widmann (SVP).
