The handover in Stuttgart City Hall is precisely regulated. However, the process could be disrupted by appeals or lawsuits against the election. Who will then take over the scepter temporarily?

On the evening of the election, Mayor Fritz Kuhn (Greens) and his successor, election winner Frank Nopper (CDU), meet in the town hall.

Stuttgart – Fritz Kuhn will turn his back on the town hall at the beginning of January after eight years. Will an S-Class soon be parked again in the courtyard of the administration building instead of the electric Smart (with driver) preferred by the Green City Mayor? Kuhn had renounced the automotive appearance that had been considered befitting for decades and made a statement with the small car. For longer journeys, however, he got into an E-Class.
