Amazon is releasing something: these customers receive gifts

Amazon is currently giving certain customers a free bonus until Monday. So what do buyers get? GIGA reveals what’s behind it.

Update from November 29th, 2020: On the occasion of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Amazon is repeating the campaign and giving away 15 percent bonus credit to Apple customers who purchase the corresponding digital prepaid cards for the iTunes and App Store. The promotion is valid until November 30th for card balances from 25 euros upwards.

Original article:
The well-known gift cards for Apple’s App Store and iTunes are usually available at discounters such as Aldi or Lidl at times cheaper or with a bonus credit. So you have to rush into the shops and get the Apple cards right there. It’s currently much more convenient at Amazon, because the world’s largest online shop sends the voucher codes directly by email and the bonus credit is granted immediately when redeemed in the App Store or iTunes Store.

Amazon: Gifts for Apple users, cards with 15 percent extra credit

And so much is currently available: Anyone who purchases a gift card for Apple’s App Store and iTunes worth 25, 50, 100 euros or an individual amount (from 25 euros upwards) from Amazon between October 6, 2020 and October 12, 2020 will receive a bonus credit in the amount of 15 percent. In purely mathematical terms, this corresponds to a discount of around 13 percent on the cards. Specifically, an overview of the gift values for the usual card values:

  • Pay € 25, get € 28.75 credit
  • Pay 50 euros, get 57.50 euros credit
  • Pay 100 euros, get a credit of 115 euros

Important to know: If you want to receive the bonus credit, you shouldn’t wait too long to redeem it, because only those who redeem the code by October 26th will receive the gift of credit. Of course, you don’t have to spend the amount immediately. As usual, the value is linked to the Apple ID and remains there as a credit – so don’t rush if you don’t know what you want to get for it.

Good to know, Prime Day from Amazon is knocking on the door again – on October 13th and 14th the time has come:

How can I use the credit?

The use of the credit is of course free, the cards can be used when buying music, films and of course apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Apple’s iTunes Store, App Store or Mac App Store are therefore available.

What also works: Reduce subscription costs for services booked through Apple. The customer can therefore subscribe to iCloud storage space or the Apple Music streaming service for less. But watch out: such credit cannot be used for e-books, the German fixed book price makes this impossible. The cards cannot be used for hardware in the Apple Store either.
