Potsdam (dpa / bb) – According to the industry association, the hotels and restaurants in Brandenburg will suffer from the consequences of the corona crisis, especially next year. “We will feel the short-term effects from January to March,” said the President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association (Dehoga) Brandenburg, Olaf Schöpe, of the German Press Agency. If business starts again after the closings, there is a risk that there will be too few employees. “Many are now looking for other jobs.” He was also less optimistic about the time from Easter: “There will be a hail of bankruptcies.”
Hotels and pensions in Brandenburg were temporarily closed in the spring due to the corona pandemic. Tourist overnight stays are now banned again. This regulation is to apply until December 21st. In Berlin, the Christmas visit can stay in hotels, but probably not in Brandenburg. In addition to the November aid, the federal government has also announced support for sales losses in December. Brandenburg’s Dehoga President Schöpe said that it was initially good that fewer companies would then be affected by direct bankruptcy.
