With his ARD show “The Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”, Florian Silbereisen (39) heralded the start of Christmas on Saturday evening. Not all the acts were so well received by the TV viewers. Right at the beginning of the show, there was criticism on the net.
The moderator had made a big splash. In an elaborate kitsch setting with artificial snow and lots of candles, pop stars such as Beatrice Egli (32), Howard Carpendale (74) and Andrea Berg (54) did the honors.
There was still something to complain about. Not only that the acoustics left a lot to be desired on the first songs and the music mostly came from the tape. Some songs also excited the fans at home. The Schlager duo “Fantasy” sang THE Christmas song par excellence with “Last Christmas” – but in German. Some people couldn’t believe their ears.
Singer Marina Marx (30) had the same idea. She gave Mariah Carey’s catchy tune “All I Want For Christmas Is You” a German text. Not exactly a good idea.
Otherwise, the show spread a lot of anticipation for Christmas. Folk music star Stefan Mross (45) and his wife Anna-Carina Woitschack (28) revealed: They are celebrating in their luxury mobile home. Anna-Carina zu Silbereisen: “There are special times, dear Florian. And we thought we’d make some special moments. “
Patricia Kelly, 51, said she used to spend Christmas in jail a lot. There she sang with the Kelly Family for the inmates. The musician performed “So This Is Christmas” by John Lennon on the show.
Schlager star Andrea Berg (54) made the most emotional appearance. After her song “The Miracle of Life”, the singer was so moved that she even rolled a few tears. Then she said jokingly to Florian Silbereisen: “Now I’m crying again. Every time with you. You are that.”
That was sure to warm the heart of the last Schlager fan.
