Viennese IT company receives “Austrian Cloud” seal of approval and successfully passes EY audit
Gerd Marlovits, Managing Director EDITEL
Vienna (OTS) – Data security and smooth processes are top priorities for the EDI provider EDITEL. It has now been awarded the “Austrian Cloud” seal of approval and has also successfully passed the “ISAE 3402 Type II” audit.
When it comes to data, it is also increasingly about security and trust. EDITEL therefore relies on recognized seals of approval and objective audits in order to prove the responsible and secure handling of data for customers. Since everything at EDI service provider EDITEL revolves around electronic business documents and their exchange, “the issues of ‘security and trust’ have top priority for us”, says EDITEL managing director Gerd Marlovits. “After all, more than 400 million transactions are processed annually by more than 20,000 companies via the EDI network eXite, and these must be protected.” EDITEL guarantees a fail-safe infrastructure as well as security features and test mechanisms that are constantly adapted to the latest technology standards and kept up to date will. In line with the motto “Trust is good, control is better”, EDITEL also regularly subjects itself to external audits in order to prove data security. For Gerd Marlovits, this is an important measure to “show full transparency and thus strengthen customer confidence in the security of our services.”
“Austrian Cloud” – seal of approval for red-white-red data
EDITEL recently qualified for the “Austrian Cloud” seal of approval. This initiative, launched by the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and EuroCloudAustria in 2018, honors providers of Austrian cloud solutions who only save data in Germany. This should make it easier for users to search for companies with a storage location in Germany. Because the location for cloud infrastructures decides – also in the opinion of cyber security experts – about legal security, data security, possible state interventions and liabilities towards companies as cloud customers. To achieve this seal of approval, EDITEL had to meet a total of 90 control points on parameters such as data protection, security aspects, legal conformity and technical infrastructure, “with which we can guarantee our customers 100% that their data will be stored in Austria,” explains Gerd Marlovits.
“ISAE 3402 Type II” – Audit for internal control system
In addition, EDITEL has again passed the “ISAE 3402 Type II” test and successfully passed it. This audit, carried out by the independent auditing and consulting organization EY, confirms that the internal processes are running smoothly. The quality of all customer-relevant services was checked in detail: IT security, IT operation, the quality of software development (change management), international support and – for the first time this year – the implementation of the GDPR guidelines. As part of the final report, EY confirms that EDITEL Austria GmbH has complied with all requirements 100%. The audit according to “ISAE 3402 Type II” aims at the regularity of the check and thus represents a sustainable instrument for the confirmation of security and efficiency in the operational business. According to Gerd Marlovits it is of “highest relevance for EDITEL to continuously check these processes and optimize. The successful one
“ISAE 3402 Type II” test report confirms our efforts to always set the highest demands on our security structures. “
