FIFA 21 dominates Black Friday week

The UK gaming charts are up with a returnee at the top. In the Black Friday week, “FIFA 21” was able to benefit particularly after the shooter “Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War” held the scepter in his hand.

While the public charts in Germany are usually quite rudimentary, the market analyzes in Great Britain are more extensive. Building on this, the UK charts arrived this week too, showing little change at the top.

Many publishers have been offering their titles at significant discounts in the past few days. And “FIFA 21”, “Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War” and “Animal Crossing New Horizons” were apparently able to benefit most from Black Friday week.

Share of disk games continues to decline

According to GameIndustry, the past week has been a successful period for most of the new games. More than a million games have been sold as physical versions. When compared with the previous year, it was down 20 percent. However, it should be noted that there is an increasing shift to the digital market, which was accelerated again by the COVID-19 pandemic. And download sales do not count on the UK charts.

The biggest winner last week was the soccer game “FIFA 21”. Sales were spurred on by significant discounts on the Champions and Ultimate Editions. With a sales increase of 35 percent compared to the previous week, “FIFA 21” succeeded in displacing the shooter “Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War”.
