For Dominik Fischnaller, the World Cup season started with a podium: The artificial track toboggan took third place at the start in Igls.

After the first run, Fischnaller was in third place, in the second run the 27-year-old from Meransen was able to defend the podium with the fourth-best run. The gap to the victorious Felix Loch from Germany was ultimately 0.180 seconds.
Loch triumphed after 2 runs with a total time of 1.39.941 minutes and relegated his compatriot Johannes Ludwig to second place (+0.126 seconds). For Loch it was the first World Cup victory since February 2019 and the 40th overall.
Kevin Fischnaller also made it into the top 10. Dominik Fischnaller’s cousin came in 7th.
Leon Felderer finished in 22nd place, Lukas Gufler took 23rd place, Alex Gufler finished the race in 27th place.
Igls is the first of 9 World Cup stations this season. For the first time, the Beijing Olympic track is also on the racing calendar. The two-seaters will start on Saturday afternoon, and the women will start on Sunday.
