For a while it looked very clear that Samsung would slowly but surely be saying goodbye to Bixby. But in the last few days the tide has turned, the language assistant is getting bigger updates and probably more tasks in the future. As an exclusive report from Sammobile reveals, Bixby will soon be available as a biometric unlocking method on some Galaxy smartphones.
Bixby Voice should be allowed to unlock the Samsung Galaxy S21 and other models, the report says. One UI 3.1 makes it possible that you can completely unlock the new Samsung smartphone with your own voice via Bixby. Details on this are still unclear at this point in time, the colleagues report. Our voice can be like an audible fingerprint.
Voice Match: Google Assistant only cooks on a low flame
Of course, it sounds familiar to us what Samsung is planning and actually offered indirectly some time ago. Voice Match is the name of the topic on Google, but today’s variant has been greatly defused. Formerly as part of Smart Lock, today Voice Match can only be used for the Google Assistant. There is no way that the smartphone can be unlocked.
Furthermore, it seems unclear to us which journey should actually be started with Bixby. Is it now the first choice for Samsung when it comes to voice assistants? Or is it just a failed interim solution before the Google Assistant takes full control of Galaxy devices again?
