NZXT warns: Risk of fire with the H1

For users of the Mini-ITX housing H1 from NZXT there is a warning directly from the manufacturer: A short circuit can occur in a few models, which creates a risk of fire.

The H1 is a remarkable mini-ITX case: especially because NZXT designed it as a package consisting of case, power supply and AiO cooling. These components are optimally matched to one another – right down to hose and cable lengths. The scope of delivery of the case also includes a riser cable for the graphics card connection. And it is precisely this riser cable that can become a source of danger.

According to NZXT, two screws on the riser cable can short-circuit the PCB, which in turn could cause a fire. The problem only occurs in individual cases – so far, less than ten H1s are said to be affected. Because it can have serious consequences, NZXT draws consequences. Sales via NZXT and NZXT BLD have been stopped, and dealers are also temporarily not supposed to sell the H1. NZXT itself is working on a solution. Replacement kits with two new screws are planned to eliminate the risk.
