While playing with his dog, the designated US President Joe Biden (78) fell and had an accident.
The elected US President Joe Biden sprained his right ankle while playing with his German shepherd and therefore consulted an orthopedic surgeon. X-rays did not show any noticeable break, Biden said in a statement on Sunday evening. An additional examination with an MRI scanner is still pending, it said.
The 78-year-old was reportedly injured on Saturday while playing with his German Shepherd Major. Journalists who followed Biden to the practice in Newark, Delaware, on Sunday could not see Biden enter the building.
Appointments on Monday
A representative from Biden’s office said the president-elect had the injury investigated on Sunday so that appointments scheduled for Monday would not be affected.
The Democrat Biden and his wife Jill have two sheepdogs that are due to move into the White House with them in January. The Bidens are also reportedly looking to get a cat.
