The Berlin police raided a gang of recipe forgers and fraudsters. Twelve apartments and other rooms were searched across Berlin on Thursday, the police announced on Friday.
The alleged leader, a 27-year-old man, has been arrested and is on remand. The criminal police are investigating 14 suspects on suspicion of falsifying prescriptions, billing fraud and the prohibited drug trade.
The amount of damage is more than 490,000 euros. The police temporarily confiscated assets amounting to almost 230,000 euros. She also secured medication, drugs, five-digit cash, a car, expensive watches, cell phones, computers and fireworks.
The gang allegedly forged stolen blank prescriptions and submitted them to pharmacies in at least 300 cases. She is said to have resold the drugs afterwards.
