Rita Ora celebrates Corona party and says sorry: “Serious and inexcusable fallacy”

Rita Ora recently turned 30. Strict Corona rules also apply in Great Britain, but the pop singer still did not want to do without a celebration. She met up with friends for a party in the London borough of Notting Hill – and apparently promptly got a visit from the police.

According to the British tabloid »Sun«, up to 30 people are said to have celebrated in a bar, and pictures show police officers knocking on the windows. Scotland Yard only confirmed that they had been called to an address in the London borough of Notting Hill on Saturday evening.

In the meantime, at least as Ora reports in her Instagram story, she is terribly sorry for the break. “I had a little party with some friends,” wrote the singer, who became known for hits like “Let You Love Me” or “Your Song”.

In the spring, Ora said she tried to leave the house as little as possible – and called on young people to do the same: “Take responsibility for you and all of us!”, She said at the time. And: “We have to realize how dramatic the situation is.”

New tier system for Great Britain

About the current celebration, Ora wrote that she assumed the celebration was “okay” as the country was nearing the end of the partial lockdown. “That was a serious and inexcusable fallacy,” said the pop star. She is very ashamed because she actually knows firsthand how hard people are working to fight the pandemic. Even if she can’t straighten things out, she at least wants to apologize.

A British government spokesman pointed out in general that Corona restrictions apply to everyone – including celebrities. On Wednesday, the partial lockdown in England will be replaced by a regional tier system. However, strict contact restrictions still apply in most parts of the country.
