Funding for private charging stations for electric cars and plug-in hybrids has got off to a very successful start. Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer (CSU) reported: “Within 24 hours, over 16,000 applications for the installation of more than 20,500 private charging points have been submitted.” Due to this enormous demand, the grant portal of the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau has meanwhile been overloaded. “That has never been done before. It shows that we are spot on with our funding. With the right incentives, we can get people to switch to climate-friendly e-cars,” continued Scheuer.
With a grant of 900 euros, the purchase and installation of private wall boxes are supported. “Charging must be possible anywhere and anytime,” says Scheuer. A large part of all charging processes will take place at home. The acquisition and construction of a new, non-publicly accessible charging station including the electrical connection is funded. In this article we have summarized what needs to be considered.
