Salzburg veteran Zlatko Junuzovic disturbs the drama

Zlatko Junuzovic can not fully understand the reactions to the defeat of his FC Red Bull Salzburg against Sturm Graz before the football festival against Bayern Munich (9 p.m. in the LIVE ticker and in the LIVE talk).

“What bothers me about games like this is the drama that is generated from outside,” explains the 33-year-old in the “Kleine Zeitung” and continues:

“It was the first defeat on a national level after the lockdown, so in many months. It is clear that you will lose one day. Of course we are not satisfied, but we analyze that. It’s checked.”

The midfielder does not want to tick off the career path Salzburg for a long time. In the summer of 2018 he moved from Werder Bremen to the Mozart city, at the end of this season the contract expires.

Is he looking for a contract extension? “Of course, I feel very comfortable here. But now we have to concentrate on the tasks ahead.”

Junuzovic and the national team

Junuzovic admits that looking at the national team “of course there is melancholy”. The 55-time international ended his ÖFB career three years ago.

“There were other circumstances that prompted me to resign. But the way it developed after that, it was unforeseeable,” said the veteran regretfully.

From his side, however, he will not approach team boss Franco Foda regarding a comeback. What if he would get in touch? “No idea. You have to judge that based on the situation.”
