Sony Germany announced the update schedule for Android 11 today. Accordingly, the smartphone manufacturer wants to bring Android 11 to five devices, starting with the Xperia 1 II in December. The Xperia 5 II should continue at the end of January 2021. Further updates are planned by February next year.
First up are the current smartphones
The gradual update to Android 11 with all its new functions will start at Sony in December for the current flagship Xperia 1 II (test). In addition to the new Android features, the update brings support for slow-motion recordings in 4K resolution with HDR and 120 FPS.
At the end of January 2021, the compact version of the top model with Android 11 will be supplied with the Xperia 5 II (test). Sony also plans to offer the update for the upper mid-range Xperia 10 II at the end of January. All three smartphones presented in 2020 came on the market with Android 10.
Last year’s flagships will follow in February
Last year’s top models Xperia 1 (test) and Xperia 5, which came onto the market with Android 9.0 and now run with Android 10, are to follow from February 2021.
