The new mayor of Stuttgart, Frank Nopper, is considered a citizen-oriented, pragmatic and brilliant speaker. Even companions from political competition trust him to do the job. But some see weaknesses in mobility and the energy transition.
Stuttgart – titles that you give yourself can sometimes be irritating. “Murr-Metropole” is what Frank Nopper Backnang named. And the current mayor of the 38,000-inhabitant town in the Rems-Murr district never tires of using this term. He does this with a clear purpose. “It was important that we developed a new backnang feeling and a real sense of self-confidence,” says the 59-year-old. In this context he likes to refer to the good economic situation, the intact infrastructure and the attractiveness especially for families with children.
