BerlinDue to the Corona crisis, the number of flights at the Condor airline fell by 90 percent. CEO Ralf Teckentrup is nevertheless looking to the future with confidence: the crisis following the insolvency of the former parent company Thomas Cook and the subsequent corona pandemic seems to be over. For passengers, his good news is that vacation in the current Corona situation is also possible, Teckentrup told the “Bild” newspaper. There are travel countries in which a corona infection is downright impossible.
“We’re flying to the Canaries and Cuba, where I was there myself: you can’t get infected there, even if you wanted to. The hygiene concepts are that good, ”said Condor boss Teckentrup of the“ Bild ”newspaper. From Christmas, the Dominican Republic and the Maldives would also be back on the flight schedule. The travel countries would do everything possible to ensure a safe vacation.
With a view to future Corona security checks at airports, Teckentrup said that it could soon be normal to spit in a bowl at the counter – “and before you even go through the check, the test result is certain”. This option does not currently exist, but the quick tests are getting more accurate and better. In addition, vaccination will also play a role in the future, said the Condor CEO.
