Two people died of Covid-19 in Bochum at the weekend


Two other people died of their Covid-19 infection over the weekend. The city reports a corona outbreak in the refugee home “Am Nordbad”.

On the weekend (28/29), two Bochumers died as a result of a corona infection. As the city announced, a 79-year-old man who had been treated in the intensive care unit of Augusta Hospital died on Saturday. A 91-year-old man from Bochum, who was being treated in a Herne hospital, died on Sunday of his Covid 19 disease.

The city also reports a corona outbreak in the refugee accommodation “Am Nordbad”. There a mother and one of her children tested positive for the virus. The other members of the family of nine also showed symptoms. They will now also be smeared. According to the city, it is also necessary that all residents of the facility must be tested on the premises.

The seven-day incidence for Bochum was significantly lower at the weekend (Saturday: 108.9 / Sunday: 113.1) than in the course of the last few weeks. The total number of proven sick people since March rose to a total of 5090. 4233 people are now considered recovered. A total of 37 people suffering from Covid-19 died from it. Another ten people died of another cause, but were also infected with the corona virus.

There are currently 810 people in Bochum, 46 men and women less than the day before, proven to be ill. 82 (+5) are treated in the hospital, 21 (+1) in an intensive care unit. 2834 people have to be in quarantine at home.
