19-17,767 new infections with the coronavirus

The health authorities in Germany reported 17,767 new coronavirus infections to the Robert Koch Institute within one day.

That was around 3,160 more than on Sunday a week ago. The number of deaths related to the virus rose by 255 to 18,772.
The reported numbers are always lower on Sundays, among other things because there is less testing on the weekend and not all health authorities transmit data.

According to the RKI management report yesterday, the so-called seven-day R-value was 1.1. This means that 100 infected people theoretically infect 110 more people.
