Blau-Wei says goodbye to the Gugl with victory

Home win at Gugl farewell: FC Blau-Wei Linz wins the last game in the Linz stadium with a 2-0 win in the 2nd football league against FC Juniors O for themselves.

After a quarter of an hour, Philipp Pomer took the lead. Michael Brandner had served the 23-year-old ideally, the midfielder converted into the short corner. The finish was gripping: After two exclusions from the guests, Turgay Gemicibasi (84th) missed a penalty, Fabian Schubert made the 2-0 final score in stoppage time (93rd).

Only today is Vorwrts Steyr (2.30 p.m.) against Dornbirn in action. Curious: while other teams are holding the final session on the main field, coach Andreas Milot’s team dodged yesterday to the training ground in Gleink, seven kilometers away – and kicked on snow. Even before the 1-0 win at Liefering, that was a good omen for Steyr. Coach Milot’s contract extension is being worked on behind the scenes. The 50-year-old should stay with the club through the summer. (rawa)
