“In each case ten masks are to be sent by the Austrian post directly to the households so that as few contacts as possible are required by the target group to be protected in order to get to this important protective equipment”, so the text of the draft law.
With ten FFP2 masks per person, this “particularly vulnerable group” should be able to “protect themselves adequately until a vaccination is likely to be available”. In order for the masks to be sent, the Minister of Health will be able to query the central residents’ register, it says.
It is not specified from when the masks will be sent. In order to implement this measure, the amendment is intended to amend a turquoise-green initiative motion that is being dealt with in committee. In detail, it concerns changes in the federal law with which authorizations are granted to dispose of federal assets in order to cover the need to combat the Covid 19 pandemic.
