Current Covid-19 situation in Upper Austria: 593 new infections, number of deaths rises to 679 (as of December 1, 5 p.m.)

Upper Austria. From Monday, November 30th to Tuesday, December 1st, 593 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Upper Austria, after 521 the previous day. At the same time, the number of those who have recovered has increased. 6,998 current cases are reported at noon.

As of November 30th, 5 p.m., the number of current reported Covid-19 cases in Upper Austria was 7,805, at noon on December 1st it had fallen to 6,998.

A total of 58,379 cases have been recorded in Upper Austria (including recovered and deceased people). The number of people in quarantine has fallen significantly and was 24,800 as of December 1 (previous day: 27,389). For information: Category 1 contact persons are without exception segregated by the authorities and must therefore go into quarantine, regardless of whether they are symptomatic or asymptomatic.

In the meantime, no city or district in Upper Austria has over 1,000 current cases. While there were still 1,065 positive cases in the state capital Linz on November 30, there were 973 on December 1 (5 p.m.).

The Linz-Land district currently has 810 positive cases (previous day: 872), the number in the Braunau district has increased slightly from 695 the previous day to 709. 698 active cases are counted in the Vöcklabruck district and 569 in the Grieskirchen district. All other regions are now below the 500 mark again.

521 new positive cases, mass tests in Upper Austria

From November 30th to December 1st, 593 new infections were reported in Upper Austria, after 521 the previous day.

Mass tests in Upper Austria

On the coming weekend, on December 5th and 6th, the voluntary antigen tests of the teachers of the schools as well as the child education and care facilities and the employees of the respective locations will take place in Upper Austria. Tense situation in hospitals (December 1st)

The number of people who have to be treated with Covid-19 in hospital has fallen and was 852 on December 1, 5 p.m., after 884 the previous day. 152 people, one more than the day before, require intensive care.

In Upper Austria, the situation in the hospitals remains very tense. Since Friday, November 27th, 175 intensive care and ventilation places have been available for Covid-19 patients. As of December 1, there will be another 142 beds to relieve the burden on Upper Austria. Hospitals available.

Situation in old people’s and nursing homes (December 1st)

Slight declines are reported in the cases in old people’s and nursing homes: Currently, 514 (541) employees and 588 (610) residents in 114 (previous day 116) Upper Austrian retirement and nursing homes have tested positive for Covid-19 (as of November 30, 2020 ).

Positive cases in schools (December 1st)

Currently 285 Upper Austrian school locations are affected by Covid-19 and 314 students and 240 teachers have tested positive for Covid-19 (as of November 30, 2020).

A detailed list of schools is currently not available.
