DFB-Pokal live: Mainz and Bochum on penalties

Cologne –

Big surprise in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. Regional league team Rot-Weiss Essen throws Fortuna Düsseldorf 3-2 out.

Crisis club FSV Mainz 05 had long felt like the winner against Bochum and took the lead early on thanks to Jean-Paul Boetius (7th). Matza made it 2-0 (55th). But Holtmann shortened (66th), and in the last second Tesche forced extra time (90th + 4). It got really embarrassing in the penalty shoot-out. Mainz messed up all three shots. So cheered at the end of the second division.

VfB Stuttgart celebrates the round of 16 with a goal by Sasa Kalajdzic against Freiburg (15th). Werder Bremen is also still in the cup. Gebre Selassie (30th), Sargent (32nd) and Mbom (60th) made things clear in Hanover.
