- 1. Ledeck ester (CZE) 1: 24,64
- 2. Corinne Suter (SUI) +0.03
- 3. Federica Brignone (ITA) +0.35
Corinne Suter and Val d’Isère – that fits. The Swiss speed specialist will also greet the podium on Sunday. After her victory on Friday and second place in the second downhill the next day, Suter was second again in the first Super-G of the season.
In the last interim period, Suter was still wafer-thin ahead of the victorious Ester Ledecka. But then the Schwyzerin made a small mistake on the finish slope. This was enough to turn a lead of 0.08 seconds into a deficit of 0.03 seconds.
Ledecka’s 2nd prank
For Ledecka, the 2018 Super G Olympic champion, it is the 1st triumph in a Super G at the World Cup level. Previously, the Czech had only won the downhill in Lake Louise in December 2019. In her parade sport of alpine snowboarding, Ledecka has already won 18 World Cups. She celebrated the last of them on December 12th in Cortina.
The other Swiss women
- 5. Lara Gut-Behrami +0.78
- 9. Michelle Gisin +1,24
- 16. Priska Nufer +1,84
- 18. Jasmina Suter +1.93
Lara Gut-Begami showed a good run and was in 4th place for a long time. From this she was only ousted by the Italian Marta Bassino (start number 17), who drove 0.32 seconds faster than the Ticino. Michelle Gisin finished 9th in the 2nd downhill on Saturday.
So it goes on
After the speed start of the season in Val d’Isère, it is now the turn of the technicians again. A giant slalom (December 28th) and a slalom (December 29th) are on the program at Semmering (AUT) in the old year. The new year will be launched on January 3rd in Zagreb with another slalom.
