Mark Hamill: “Mandalorian” final is “a miracle”

What happens in the “Star Wars” universe rarely seeps through beforehand. This also applies to “The Mandalorian” – much to the delight of Mark Hamill.

The finale of the second season of “The Mandalorian” had a big surprise in store. And not only many fans were enthusiastic about it. Now Mark Hamill (69), the star from the “Star Wars” film series, has spoken out. Warning, spoilers! If you haven’t seen the last episode of the current season of the “Star Wars” series on Disney +, you shouldn’t read on here.

A digitally rejuvenated Mark Hamill made a surprising appearance as Luke Skywalker in the season finale of “The Mandalorian”. Swinging his lightsaber, he makes his way through an army of droid and frees the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) and his helpers. Then the Jedi takes little Grogu alias Baby Yoda into his care. R2-D2 was there once more. Hamill then celebrated that he could actually surprise the fans with his cameo.

“Nothing less than a miracle”

“The fact that we kept my involvement a secret for over a year without leaks is nothing short of a miracle,” tweeted the actor. “A real triumph for spoiler haters everywhere!” And it was supposedly not Hamill’s first appearance in the “Star Wars” series, which takes place a few years after “Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi”. According to the industry portal “Deadline”, his voice, which he lent to a droid, could already be heard in the fifth episode of the first season.
