In a very short time TSV Hartberg managed to make a name for itself in the Austrian Bundesliga. After the promotion in 2016/2017 from the regional league to the second division, the leap into the top division followed in the 2017/2018 season. Last season the Styrians reached a Europa League place. Soon a new stadium should now be built for career changers.
Compared to the Small newspaper Hartberg’s chairman Erich Korherr announced details of a possible stadium construction. “We have to let the city know by the end of January. A new stadium would have the advantage that it would only be used for football. We are currently reckoning with costs of between 12 and 17 million euros,” said Korherr.
The construction of a new stadium would “certainly be possible” with investors. “We have a lot of business people in the region and in the VIP club who have said several times that they are on board,” he continued.
In the new football temple, near the highway, 6,000 to 7,000 fans could be seated. The construction time is expected to be one year – training grounds and a fan shop are also being considered. The Styrians are currently playing their home games in the Profertil Arena, which has 5,024 spectators.
