The mark of 1,000 pandemic deaths exceeded in Berlin

Around ten months after the start of the pandemic, the number of people who died after corona infections in Berlin has risen to more than 1,000. Compared to the previous day, the management report from Saturday recorded 17 more deaths, making it 1001 in total. 124 of them were younger than 70. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) assumes an unreported number of further pandemic deaths nationwide, since the corona infection is not recognized in every patient.

According to the health administration report, the number of new infections recorded within one day rose by 1,325, to 86,561 since spring. 65,350 people are considered recovered.

The Senate’s corona traffic light remains red for two indicators: the utilization of intensive care beds with Covid 19 patients (unchanged at almost 30 percent) and new infections over the past seven days (further increase to around 209 per 100,000 inhabitants) .
