Liverpool FC is not back on the road to success in the Premier League. In the top duel against Manchester United there is only one point. Jürgen Klopp (53) has been waiting for a win for four games. United, on the other hand, is chasing an away record.
Liverpool missed the leap to the top of the Premier League table. Against arch rivals Manchester United, the Reds couldn’t get past a goalless draw. Liverpool are fourth with 34 points and the Red Devils are leaders with 37 points.
Liverpool FC was the dominant team with more ball possession, more mature playing equipment and initially better chances, but the record champions repeatedly set dangerous counterattacks.
Alisson saves Liverpool a counter
In the end, Liverpool had to thank Alisson for making one point. The Brazilian national goalkeeper parried brilliantly several times, including against the free-standing Paul Pogba, who failed from seven meters to Alisson.
Manchester United on the hunt for records
Manchester United have now been unbeaten in 16 Premier League away games. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team won 12 of them and four ended in a draw.
Only once in their club history have the Red Devils been better (17 away games without bankruptcy; 1999). Already on Wednesday Pogba and Co. can set the record when it comes to Fulham FC (9:15 p.m.).
