More time for Berlin high school graduates: Senator for Education Scheeres announced in the evening that she would postpone the last day of school for her by a week.
Berlin high school graduates get more study time before the exams. Education Senator Sandra Scheeres (SPD) said on Friday in the evening show of the rbb: “Actually, March 23rd is the last day of school, we are postponing that for the high school graduates by a week so that they have one week more face-to-face classes and then into the Easter holidays, ”said Scheeres. This results in an additional learning time of three weeks, a spokesman for the education administration confirmed to the Tagesspiegel.
Exact dates for the Abitur exams have not yet been determined, as Scheeres still has to coordinate with the Brandenburg Ministry of Education under SPD Minister Britta Ernst. The two countries share dates and task pools for numerous subjects – a postponement would also have to be decided jointly.

According to the current examination schedule, the first exam is scheduled for April 12th. The regional student committee had requested a postponement of one month.
As a further relief, there is a right of withdrawal before the Abitur exam and 30 minutes more time per exam, Scheeres told rbb.
The education administration has also initiated additional examination tasks together with Brandenburg, so that the teachers have a greater choice.
