The Swiss mixed relay caused an exclamation mark in Oberhof. The quartet with Aita Gasparin, Selina Gasparin, Benjamin Weger and Serafin Wiestner ran in 6th place. Weger remained flawless at the shooting range. The Swiss team was 1:29 minutes short of the winning time.
The favored Norwegian team suffered a slight setback. Final runner Sturla Lägreid was overtaken by the Russian Eduard Latypow in the last few meters. Third place went to France, which was still in the lead after the last shooting.
France with no effort in the single mixed relay
In the single mixed relay, Irene Cadurisch and Sebastian Stalder could not build on the good performance of their compatriots. They finished the race in 16th place. The Swiss made 12 spare rounds in total.
The victory went to the superior French team with Julia Simon and Émilien Jacquelin. Sweden with Hanna Öberg and Sebastian Samuelsson finished 38 seconds behind in second place.
The third ranked Norway awarded a better classification at the shooting range. Tiril Eckhoff, two-time winner in Oberhof, landed 3 penalty loops in her last shooting. Johannes Thingnes Bö fought his way back on the podium.
