Bundesliga: Roses Gladbach celebrates a narrow home win - football - international

On the 17th matchday of the German Bundesliga, Borussia Mönchengladbach managed a narrow 1-0 home win against Werder Bremen.

The  first big chance of the game finds ÖFB kicker Hannes Wolf in minute 16, but his shot is scraped off in time.

A little later, another Austrian, Romano Schmid, has a good opportunity (28th), but Gladbach keeper Sommer is there with a parade that is well worth seeing. Shortly afterwards, a Schmid deal just before the line is clarified.

The  gold goal falls in the second section after a standard situation. Laszlo Benes brings a free kick from the left into the box, where the Swiss Nico Elvedi heads in and gives the Rose team three points.

In the race for the top positions, Gladbach remains in sixth place, while Werder is only 12th.
