Cabinet sets corona rules for Saxony

Dresden (dpa / sn) – After consultations by the federal and state governments, the Saxon cabinet wants to determine the new corona rules for Saxony today.

 The y are to be presented to the public at noon. On Tuesday afternoon, the prime ministers met with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) to discuss how to proceed in the corona crisis – for example, tightening or extending the lockdown. Saxony’s Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) had shown himself to be open to an extension until February 14, but at the same time ruled out a much stricter lockdown for Saxony.


 The  Free State had previously introduced more extensive measures than other countries – such as the curfew from 10 p.m. or the 15-kilometer radius around the residential address. In addition, Saxony had already extended the lockdown to February 7th at the beginning of January.
