In view of the increase in home offices, the BVG wants to create new tariff offers for buses and subways. If people only go to the office three days a week, you need tailored tariff models, said the chairman of the board of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), Elke Kreienkamp, of the “Berliner Morgenpost” (Monday).

Negotiations with the VBB

The  BVG is in the process of holding talks with the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) about what such tariffs could look like. So-called “best buy” options are conceivable, in which the cheapest price is charged depending on usage. Rechargeable cards are also conceivable. “It’s still in its infancy, but we have to go there,” said Kreienkamp.
