Daycare care, mask requirement, home office: Stricter corona rules decided – that applies in Berlin from Sunday – Berlin

The  Berlin Senate has largely agreed on a common corona strategy for the coming weeks. As became apparent in the run-up to the meeting, Berlin is closely following the resolutions of the Prime Minister’s Conference – Berlin’s Governing Mayor Michael Müller (SPD), as its chairman, had a decisive role in negotiating these.

One day after Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the Prime Minister had switched off for several hours, the Senate agreed to make emergency care in day-care centers much more restrictive in future.

Daycare centers should now “basically” close. Exceptions in the form of emergency care should only be made for children of parents who work in so-called systemically relevant professions.

In addition, single parents and “socially stressed families” should be able to take their children to emergency care. Which professions are considered systemically relevant was still unclear on Wednesday afternoon. Senator for Economic Affairs Ramona Pop (Greens) referred in the press conference to the lists that were already made in the first Lockdwon.

The  aim should be that the number of children does not exceed 50 percent of the normal occupancy. It is currently more than a third – but the trend has recently increased significantly.

In addition, the Senate decided to tighten the mask requirement in shops and on buses and trains. As a result, it will be mandatory to wear a medical mask in retail and local public transport.

This also means simple surgical masks, FFP2 masks are not absolutely necessary. In the future, such masks will also have to be worn in hospitals and medical practices.

For recipients of transfer payments and the homeless, appropriate masks are made available for collection at the district offices. According to reports, there was a long dispute between the health and social services authorities over the question of who should take on this task. © www.de24.news

The  social administration should now be responsible.

The  new Corona regulation is to be published on Saturday and will then come into force on Sunday.

Decision on home office duty postponed

The  decision on how employers can be obliged to set up home offices for their employees was postponed. A draft by the Left Party to prohibit work on the screen if employees have to go to the office to do so did not prevail for the time being.

The  Berlin rule is now to be coordinated with the ordinance of the Federal Ministry of Labor, until then there will be an appeal to work from home. © www.de24.news

The  Senate will deal with the issue again next Tuesday.
