Alba had to compete without the coach Aito Garcia Reneses, who tested positive for the corona virus, he was represented by assistant Israel Gonzalez. In addition, Peyton Siva, Luke Sikma, Marcus Eriksson and captain Niels Giffey were absent due to injuries. But center Ben Lammers returned after a week-long injury break. Despite the lack of top performers, Alba started the game very well.

In addition, Alba kept winning the ball and was in the lead from the start. In the middle of the second quarter they were 28:20 ahead. Bayern stayed in the poor first half, but were not even in the lead.

After the break, Alba also had three-point throws and the Berliners were able to pull away again. At times, Bayern seemed at a loss against the strong defensive work in Berlin.
