Frankfurt So far, the euro has moved little on Monday. In the morning, the common currency was trading at $ 1.2182, roughly the same rate as on Friday evening. ©

The  European Central Bank (ECB) last set the reference rate a little lower on Friday afternoon at $ 1.2158

The  euro was able to hold the gains of the previous trading week. According to market observers, the common currency was supported by a generally friendly mood at the beginning of the week. After the Asian stock markets were able to gain in the morning, slight gains are also expected on the European stock exchanges.

In the further course of the day, economic data should move more into focus and could provide new impetus on the foreign exchange market. ©

The  morning’s program includes the Ifo business climate, which is probably the most important leading indicator for the German economy. ©

The  index value for January should provide further information on how much the tightened corona restrictions have burdened the German economy at the beginning of the year.
