The number of positive corona tests continues to decline in the two Basels.

In both Basel, 59 new infections with the corona virus were recorded on Sunday compared to 71 the previous day. The re were also two more deaths related to Covid-19.
In Basel-Stadt, the number of registered infections rose by 37 to 9,154 on Sunday, according to the canton’s pandemic statistics. The day before, 21 newly infected people were reported.
The number of those currently isolated rose by one to 292.
The number of Covid-19 deaths rose by two to 174.
The re were still 54 Covid-19 patients in a Basel hospital, 40 of them (+1) residing in the city canton. According to case statistics, there were twelve (+1) Covid 19 patients in an intensive care unit.
The canton of Baselland reported no further Covid 19 deaths on Sunday. This means that 199 people have died in connection with Covid 19 in the rural canton.
The canton of Baselland recorded 22 new infections compared to 50 the previous day. Thus, a total of 12,392 people in the Basel area have been infected with the coronavirus so far. 630 (-46) were considered active cases.
On Sunday, there were still 25 Covid-19 patients in the hospital in Baselland. Six patients were housed in the intensive care unit, five had to be ventilated.
