Austria will experience a new mask landscape from Monday. From now on, everyone over the age of 14 must wear the higher-quality FFP2 masks in shops, on public transport, at service providers such as car workshops and in ordinations.

This does not apply to pregnant women and people who cannot reasonably be expected to receive the appropriate protection for health reasons.

Two meter distance

In addition to the previously mandatory corona tests in the health and care sector, the regulation will in future also apply to numerous other areas, such as employees with customer contact (e.g. trade, services, transport). Teachers and elementary educators, workers in warehouse logistics, if the minimum distance is regularly fallen below, as well as people in the public service in party traffic must also test themselves. An alternative for all of these groups is to wear the FFP2 mask at the workplace.

In addition, there is now a two-meter distance in public with the exception of people with whom you live together, or partners who live separately or people you meet, for example, for a walk. Of course, the same applies here that several people may only meet one person from another household.
