Berlin (dpa / bb) – Berlin received another delivery of the corona vaccine from Biontech and Pfizer on Friday afternoon. 29,250 cans were planned. The spokesman for the Senate Health Administration, Moritz Quiske, said that the number will be counted and then the distribution between the mobile teams and vaccination centers will be calculated. However, there is still no date for the opening of a second Berlin vaccination center.
A first planned vaccine delivery in January was canceled. Berlin already received 58,500 doses of vaccine in December. Half of this remains in storage in order to be able to administer the second necessary vaccination three weeks after the first. According to the Robert Koch Institute, 26 406 cans have already been injected in Berlin. 16,773 nursing home residents were given the first dose – around half of this particularly vulnerable group. You get the vaccination through mobile services.
Over 80-year-old Berliners who do not live in a home will receive an invitation to the vaccination center by post. By mid-February, the capital is to gradually receive a total of 234,000 Biontech cans, including deliveries from the previous year.
