Union brings the new edition of the tax-free Corona premium into discussion

 The  Union has brought a new edition of the tax-free Corona special payments to employees into play. “ The re are good reasons to implement such a regulation again this year,” said Union faction vice-president Andreas Jung (CDU) of “Welt am Sonntag”.

At the beginning of the Corona crisis, the coalition decided to make one-off special payments of up to 1500 euros to employees tax-free.

 The  coalition partner SPD pointed out that the bonus scheme was last extended until the end of June. “I hope that by then a number of other employers will make use of the opportunity,” said SPD parliamentary group vice-president Achim Post. “

According to a survey by the “Welt am Sonntag” among the 30 DAX companies, almost half of the companies have so far paid their employees a corona bonus. Employees from Adidas, Beiersdorf, Daimler, Deutsche Börse, Deutsche Post, Deutsche Wohnen, Deutsche Telekom, Heidelberg Cement, Infineon, Merck, Siemens and Vonovia received the bonus. (AFP)
