Migros hardly increases wages – and not even for everyone

Not all Migros employees can hope for a wage increase: the salaries are only increased on an individual basis.

According to a report in the “SonntagsZeitung”, Migros is stingy when it comes to wage increases. While Coop and the Fenaco-Landi Group with their Volg stores have increased the wage bill for 2021 by one percent each, at Migros it is only 0.2 to 0.5 percent, depending on the cooperative.

In addition, Coop and Fenaco would offer a general wage increase for salaries of up to CHF 4,700 gross. Coop pays 40 francs. At Fenaco it’s 50 francs.

On the other hand, Migros increased the salaries exclusively on an individual basis. This happens «performance-related», as company spokesman Thomas Kaderli said in the «SonntagsZeitung».

Anne Rubin, who is responsible for the retail trade at the trade union Unia, criticizes this practice. © www.de24.news The  last four wage agreements were already worse at Migros than at Coop.
