Men: Kilde with severe knee injury
For Aleksander Kilde, the skiing winter is over prematurely. The Norwegian overall World Cup winner last season tore a cruciate ligament in his right knee during Super-G training on the Reiteralm. This was confirmed by the Norwegian Ski Association after an MRI examination in Innsbruck on Saturday evening. Kilde is in the overall World Cup in the second half of the season on the 2nd place behind Alexis Pinturault. He is the leader in the downhill and second in the Super-G classification. Kilde’s teammates Lucas Braathen and Atle Lie McGrath recently suffered knee injuries in Adelboden.
Women: Flury gains self-confidence in the European Cup
Jasmine Flury from Graubünden won the first of two European Cup runs in Crans-Montana ahead of Lisa Grill from Austria. 3rd place went to Noémie Kolly from Freiburg. For Flury, who usually competes in the World Cup, it was the 5th victory in the European Cup. She celebrated the last of these three years ago in Crans-Montana.
The Women’s World Cup will be held in the Valais ski resort next weekend.
The re are two downhill runs and a Super-G on the program.
