NFL: Tampa Bay makes Super Bowl premiere

The  Chiefs, who regained the NFL throne a year ago for the first time in 50 years, defeated the Buffalo Bills 38:24 in the AFC final and are in the Super Bowl for the fourth time (two titles). Tampa Bay is back for the second time since the 2003 triumph. With Brady and Chiefs young star Patrick Mahomes, the victorious quarterbacks of the past two Super Bowls will meet.

But let’s enjoy it a little, ”said Brady. “It was a long process for the whole team.” Tampa Bay had to win three away games as a wildcard team to make it to the final at home. Green Bay, number one in the NFC, has been waiting for the fifth Super Bowl title since 2011.

Old star Brady had given the “Bucs” an early lead with a touchdown pass to Mike Evans in sub-zero temperatures at Lambeau Field and again expanded it to 21:10 shortly before the break. In the meantime, after Brady’s third touchdown pass, the guests moved away to 28:10.

The  attempt to shorten after a touchdown with two extra points failed. Brady threw three interceptions in the second half, but the hosts could not capitalize on them.

At 23:31 and around two minutes before the end, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur decided on a field goal instead of trusting Rodgers for a touchdown pass on a fourth attempt and eight yards from the end zone. “© www.de24.news

The  way our defense played, I felt it was the right decision,” said LaFleur. “It didn’t work.” Rodgers, who lost four of his five NFC finals, had some understanding, but also emphasized: ” It wasn’t my decision. ”After the game, the 37-year-old described the team’s future as“ uncertain ”.

Young star Mahomes leads Chiefs to victory

In Kansas City, the Buffalo Bills led 9-0, but the hosts, led by their young quarterback star Mahomes, turned the game to a 21:12 lead before the break. © www.de24.news

The  25-year-old threw three touchdown passes, two of them to tight end Travis Kelce.

After 14 wins and only two defeats, the Chiefs were considered favorites to make it into the final and confirmed that against Buffalo. “© www.de24.news

The  job is not done yet,” said the most valuable player (MVP) of the 2018 season and last year’s Super Bowl. “We’re going to Tampa to get the trophy back,” said Mahomes, who suffered a concussion and a toe injury in the quarterfinals a week ago. But that didn’t affect him.

Mahomes again led the Kansas City Chiefs to the Super Bowl

For the Bills, who with quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs had established themselves as dangerous underdogs over the course of the season, the Chiefs away were a size too big in the end. While Buffalo has to wait for his first NFL title, record player Brady is already reaching for his seventh – and for the first time in his team’s stadium.
