Nina Queer is causing a stir right now. The drag queen actually wanted to go to the jungle camp next year. Now RTL threw the 35-year-old from the replacement show at short notice. But who is Nina Queer anyway?
“In the end, it’s pretty bad that I had to wait so long for someone to ask me,” said Nina Queer in an RTL interview when asked about her participation in the jungle show. The drag queen just doesn’t like to exercise modesty.
“Austrian Empress in Prussian exile”
For the native Austrian, it would have been participation in her largest format to date. The 35-year-old has been a successful drag queen in Berlin for years, and insiders apparently even call her “the last Austrian empress in Prussian exile”.

In the German capital, Nina organizes queer parties or hangs out at red carpet events. For years she reported from the Berlinale for a week every day for ARD from the carpets of the film festival. So television is not alien to her. You could also marvel at the Berliner-by-choice in “Frauentausch”, “Mission Traumhaus” or “Finally vacation in Morocco”.
In addition to her work as a presenter or jury member for some programs that were broadcast on special interest channels, she is a DJ on festivals and has already released several albums. Actually there is hardly an area in the entertainment industry that Nina Queer has not sniffed at least once in. Whether as an actress, book author or advertising face, the drag queen has tried almost everything.
Thrown out before the show
But before the start of “I’m a Star – The Great Jungle Show”, RTL Nina Queer canceled again off the list. The reason were statements that the drag queen made in the past. In 2017 Nina Queer was the victim of a homophobic attack in Berlin. She was then accused of making racist statements in a post she published afterwards. She apologized for this and caused renewed discussions with the statement “Then I’ll be the first Hitler tranny”.
Among others, Désirée Nick, with whom Nina Queer was good friends before, complained about the participation of the Austrian in the jungle show. It then showed up the artist disappoints, She distanced herself from racism and said that she expected that they would do some research beforehand or that they would talk to her.
